A further gathering of the ‘Band of Brothers’ now known as the ‘Shotley Old Boys of Ganges’ has been called for the 26th June 2009. When all interested parties are invited to attend Pontin’s Holiday Centre at Pakefield - to partake in a ‘Lamp Swinging’ weekend to eat drink and be merry - before returning to the humdrum of life what ever and where ever that may be - leaving the Lawyers lower deck or other - far behind to celebrate our survival from Boy 2nd Class (or equivalent) to what ever we are today - mostly the bus pass division! 

Come along – bring your Family – sadly no children under 16 - or ‘Old mates’ especially if they were former servants of the ‘Grey Funnel’ line – even the odd bootee or two will make life more entertaining, this will be a time for jollification and merry making (or in Naval parlance ‘hands to skylark’) leaving behind the formality of this sad world we all live in now a’ day’s – no penguin suits or political speech’s just us.
